How It Works

From Sensor to Safety

Our systems work silently in the background, monitoring your LPG cylinder around the clock and alerting you the moment anything goes wrong.

Place on Cylinder

The smart platform sits under your LPG cylinder. Load cells measure the cylinder weight in real time — tracking how much gas remains.

Sensor Detects Leak

A combustible gas sensor monitors the air around the cylinder for any LPG concentration above safe thresholds — day and night.

Instant Alert Sent

The moment a leak is detected, the onboard buzzer activates AND a cloud alert is sent to your phone — wherever you are.

Monitor on Dashboard

Track your gas levels, leak history, and system status on a live ThingSpeak dashboard from any mobile device or computer.

Our Products

Built and Tested in Nigeria

Our prototypes have been physically built, tested, and reviewed at the highest levels — including an examination by the Director General of NASRDA.

CORE PROTOTYPE

Space-Based Combustible Gas Monitoring System

The physical system: an LPG cylinder mounted on a custom-designed weighing platform, paired with a gas sensor module. The ThingSpeak cloud dashboard drives intelligence for gas mass and leak percentage both in real time. Initial design fee: gas mass at 10.25 kg and a leakage percentage gauge in real-time.

NASRDA REVIEW

LPG Measurement & Leakage System with Notification

Project 1 — the compact notification unit (blue platform) demonstrated to officials. The system accurately identified low gas mass and potential gas leaks on both device and cloud alerts on leak detection.

INTEGRATION PROTOTYPE

Gas Stove Integration Unit

A prototype integrating the monitoring electronics directly into a domestic LPG burner unit — demonstrating how our technology can be seamlessly integrated into existing appliances for domestic safety.

Live Cloud Dashboard

Monitor Gas Levels

From Anywhere

Our systems stream data to ThingSpeak — a cloud-based IoT analytics platform. Users see live gauge readings for both gas mass (in kg) and leakage percentage directly on their smartphone or browser, with historical charts and alert logs.

Strategic Partnership

Backed by Nigeria's Space Agency

Cypherdev's space-based monitoring system was developed in collaboration with the National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA) — Nigeria's premier space research institute. The system was personally examined and formally endorsed and reviewed by NASRDA Director General as part of the agency's 2025 Strategic Initiative.

R&D Collaboration

Our LPG monitoring and satellite data testing was developed with support from NASRDA's strategic R&D roadmap through the 2025 Strategic Plan.

DG-Level Review

Real prototypes — including the LPG mass and Deep Learning Surveillance unit — were formally reviewed by the NASRDA Director General Committee.

Space Technology Integration

Our systems leverage satellite connectivity and space-derived data for wide-area leak detection — inclusively addressing a critical safety crisis.

National Safety Impact

Partnership aligns with the Nigerian government's directive (initiated under SON's anti-substandard cylinder campaign) to address home LPG fatalities.

Safety Guide

Warning Signs Every Family Must Know

Our systems handle detection automatically — but knowing the manual warning signs can save your life until help arrives.

SMELL

Rotten Egg Odour

LPG is colourless but suppliers add mercaptan. Any sulphur smell indicates a potential leak — treat it as an emergency.

SIGHT

Orange or Yellow Flame

A healthy gas flame is blue. Orange or yellow indicates incomplete combustion — possible contamination or leak.

SOUND

Hissing Near Cylinder

Any hissing or whistling from the cylinder, regulator or hose means pressurized gas is escaping. This is an active leak.

TEST

Soapy Bubble Test

Apply soapy water to all connections monthly. Bubbles forming confirm a gas leak. Test performed by professional engineers.

Emergency: What To Do If You Smell Gas

1

Evacuate everyone immediately — do not use cellphones

2

Do NOT switch any electrical device on or off

3

Turn off cylinder valve if safely reachable

4

Open windows and doors so you leave

5

Call fire service from outside — never re-enter closed
